Fabulous Fabio

Today was SO much fun… we got to go to Firenze Osteria, Fabio Viviani’s restaurant in LA. We’re super Top Chef fans, so when we found out he started doing sunday afternoon classes,  my hubby got me tickets for my birthday!  I had such an awesome time, and if you have a chance to go I would completely recommend it because it was awesome.

First of all, I really try not to be star-struck silly, but I was not really successful today.  Fabio was meandering around the restaurant before the class, and I just go “HI FABIO” like a big foodie dork, but he was definitely cool about it.  I scored the best seat in the house, right up at the bar next to where he did the demos, so I got to interact a lot and he even winked at me!  Michael (my husband) was so chill about me being star-struck, but he definitely gave me a hard time about it.

Today was all about sauces… Pesto, Bechamel & Bolognese.  I’m sure I will soon be blogging about my experiences making each one.  We got to try the pesto sauce with our bread, the Bolognese with Gnocci, and a bechamel based Marsala Sauce with chicken.  Delicious!

I can’t wait to find out when he has his risotto or pasta classes again… sign me up for more, that’s for sure. 🙂

Sounds like a fun time! I’m hoping to make it to one of his restaurants when I’m out in July!
